100 ways

100 children - 100 ways

When it comes to getting children out of doors and having fun in green spaces, there is no “one size fits all” solution. One hundred different children call for one hundred different approaches, needing imagination on the part of parents, teachers and children alike.

We’d like to hear your stories:
  • Are you a child that loves playing outdoors? If so tell us what you like best.
  • If you have children or grandchildren, how do you get them enthusiastic about playing outdoors? What captures their imagination?
  • Is there much access to green space where you live? If so, do children use it and how?
  • Tell us about the sorts of things you did as a youngster when you were playing outside.
  • Was there a particular moment or event that fired up your passion for the natural world?

Rewilding Childhood is gathering stories like yours from all over Europe to build up a picture of the importance of green space and wild nature to children, past and present. With your input we will also be able to build a fantastic on-line resource of ideas, suggestions and inspiration for parents, teachers and children who just want to get out there and have fun.

Please submit your stories (maximum 300 words per story in English and, optionally, in your native language too) to: niall@RewildingChildhood.com or by clicking here.
